The Plate Tectonics through the Ancients is a program designed to develop 6th grade students knowledge of the science of earthquakes, the history of storytelling and the current technology we utilize to understand this phenomena! 


Photo Safari

Junior High- STEAM - Technology/Art

Photo Safari Magazine Creation 

The STEAM Photo Safari consists of 4 weeks of classes where 7th and 8th grade students are introduced to Photography, Photo Shop, In-Design Software, and magazine layout and design and publication. Students will write their own articles for the magazine to support their photographs. The final project will be a published magazine the students have produced, designed and created.

Cartoon Physics

8th Grade - STEAM - Science/Art

Physics Through Animation

The 4 week class will provide an introduction to physics and how animation can be employed to demonstrate the laws of motion. Animation boards and dry erase markers with an IPod or like piece of technology will be provided to enable students to create a stop motion animated movie utilizing the principles of Physics they learn during the course of their studies. Other projects could include clay as a medium to create a stop motion production utilizing physics.

Junior High - STEAM - English/Science/Art

Story and Graphic Novel Development Workshop

Students will be introduced to the story-telling concepts of plot line, character development, and story structure. Consists of 4 meetings of 8th grade classes, 3 two hour workshops at a School Site, and the final three hour workshop the culmination of all the classes, being held at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center.

Social Enterprise Fair

The Social Enterprise Fair is a program designed to develop 8th grade students into socially conscious entrepreneurs while teaching basic skills in writing, art, design and math. During this program students will work together, amongst their classmates in teams of four, to “start up” their own Social Enterprise.
